Oh No You Dit-int

Being on campus today made me realize that Athens is in serious need of fashion police. Not to say that I am in any way perfect in my choice of dress, but I like to think that my clothing choices are average and in no way loud, ridiculous, of flat out fug. However, I cannot say the same for my fellow femmes at UGA.

Let's talk about one fashion item...Ugg boots or anything similar to them. Since I hear they are really warm, the only time I would say they are appropriate is under jeans, where you can't see them...otherwise it's just uncalled for. And I kno everyone has noticed girls wearing mini-skirts or shorts with Uggs....I saw a girl today and literally had to do a double take cause I thought she was walking a tiny dog...turns out, it was just really furry boots...and she wasn't wearing apple-bottom jeans (Flo Rida reference).

The one outfit that really caught my eye today was a young lady waiting at the bus stop. I think she was trying to come off unique and it just took a wrong turn somewhere. I'm about 99.9% positive that it wasn't for class or anything, considering it's only the 4th day. The ensemble was comprised of a white frilly shirt, kind of like something Bo-Peep would wear. She paired it with this pink and black plaid skirt with 2 lines of ribbon around the bottom and double layers of frill as well. Then, she wore these tall-tight black combat boots. I just really wish that I had a camera...buuuut...since I didn't, I decided to draw you guys a pretty spot on picture. The only thing that might be a little exaggerated is the color of her hair...it was a darker red.

Love & Marriage?...Like a horse & carriage

If you haven't read facebook for like the past few months, shame on you...cause if you had, then you would know that I was in fact...married. If it ain't on facebook....it ain't official. Newho...she is the love of my life, and yes I said she. I'm gonna do my own version of The Knot (if you've been under a rock...it's a wedding website w/all kinds of info and the couple can create their own little page about them and the wedding) to give everyone a better idea of our relationship.
about us

ABOUT STEPHANIE
Stephanie is a quick-witted and kind-hearted soul. She is going to graduate from UGA this May and go on to be an elementary school teacher that all the children will just adore. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, making lovely cards, drinking diet coke, going to concerts, and much more. She is excited about being married.

ABOUT MINDY
I am also about to graduate from UGA in May with a Psychology degree, and I plan on going to graduate school to become who knows what. I love my family and friends, watching movies, reading, and driving around with the windows down. I am ecstatic about being married and am so glad I found the one at such a young age.

HOW WE MET
We met through a mutual friend who was in our sorority, started sitting together at chapters, and the rest was history.

WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED & MARRIED
October 26, 2007

HOW IT HAPPENED
I never thought I would marry a woman, but after getting to know Stephanie, I knew that I had found my perfect catch. For GA-FL weekend, a bunch of us friends all met in Jacksonsville where we stayed at a friend's brother's house. The night before the football game, we all had this party and at one point were playing beer pong. While playing, she was just such so encouraging and motivating and kind that I just knew I had to propose right then and there. I asked her if she would marry me, she said yes, and from then on we were wifey and wifey. However, we have decided to also have an open sort of marriage, considering she has a boyf and I am looking. But, no matter what we'll have each other and our love. :)

Future of Hmmskies...

I'm sitting here trying to think of what to blog about and I realized that I just have so many ideas running through my head that I feel uninspired to write about any of them. I don't want to lead you readers astray, please stick with me. So for today, I think I'm just going to write about the upcoming topics you can look forward to in order to get a better vision of what I want to put out there exactly:

-butt slapping
-game nights and the competitiveness of it all
-having a boyfriend, vague topic that should be discussed
-Whit* (name changed for anonymity purposes), the maintenance man
-centaurs, my favorite mythical creature
-hair, specifically on the head...that's on the very top of your body
-French music
-my Psych class that is quite literally, group therapy

I am really excited about these subjects and you guys should be too. Tomorrow's Hump Day, so get it on.

First day back to classes is always bittersweet...I hate getting back into the routine, and yet I love the structure and various traditions that I have with myself (getting Jittery Joe's, reading the Red & Black, seeing friends). And today I realized that this will be my last first day as an undergrad...a very upsetting thought since I am totally not ready. One thing I will actually miss is riding on a cramped Orbit or East Campus Express bus and all that happens when doing so. Like this morning, I hopped on an ECX and over the intercom, the middle-aged lady who was driving said this,

"Okay guys, we have three more ppl to fit behind the line and I have a 'No Man Left Behind' Policy! I don't pull out unless everyone is cheerfully secured."

What made this comment funny was not necessarily what she said, but it was the fact that she said it purposely to be funny and it just wasn't.

Neway...Stephanie and Jonathan (my "wife" and her boyfriend) came over and hung out while we watched the National Championship game. Well, they introduced me to a little treasure that I wanted to share with you all....maybe you've seen it, but oh well. I gotta go to sleep now cause apparently I have class at 8:00 AM.
